Audi Buys Ducati
German automaker Audi has just purchased Italian sports motorcycle manufacturer Ducati. Audi AG officially bought Ducati which makes it the third Italian company under Audi with the first and second being Lamborghini and Italdesign, respectively. Ducati was sold for approx. $1.1 billion, in which Audi plans to utilize their engine technology and lightweight construction assets. In 2011, it was reported that Ducati sold around 42,000 motorcycles and generated revenue of some €480 million.
