Nike Supports Michelle Obama’s LET’S MOVE Active Schools Initiative
Nike President & CEO Mark Parker joins First Lady Michelle Obama in bringing physical
activity back to schools.
Studies show that only 6 states require physical education in schools. While that is quite disturbing, studies also show that 20% of school districts require daily recess while 1 in 3 kids are active each day.
The importance of physical activity in schools greatly improves a child’s school performance as opposed to kids that hardly do any form of physical activity. Active kids have 40% higher test grades, increased concentration and attention, and improved attendance and discipline.
