Iconic British street artist Banksy has done it yet again by offering his priceless artwork for little to nothing. Potential buyers had no clue that the work presented was actually Banksy’s because he wasn’t at the stall in New York where his work was set up. Instead he hired an elderly man to watch over the stencils. Here’s what Banksy wrote:
“Yesterday I set up a stall in the park selling 100% authentic original signed Banksy canvases. For $60 [£38] each.”
It turns out that only 3 people purchased the prints and judging by past Banksy artwork, these could definitely help the buyers out tremendously if they chose to sell. On the day of the event one woman bought two small canvases and later a younger woman bought a bigger canvas for regular price. Another person from Chicago bought four pieces for his new house.
