Petition Launches Urging Big Brands to Stop Commissioning Terry Richardson
A petition has launched on change.org urging big brands to stop commissioning omnipresent and controversial photographer Terry Richardson. The petition specifically calls upon Vogue, H&M, Mango and Supreme, and cites several reasons for its case including “his supposed exploit & abuse of certain models, mainstream degrading pornographic imagery, and inappropriate and unprofessional behavior.”
Furthermore, the petition calls for the allegations against Richardson to be looked at more closely, asking for action to be taken before it’s too late (such as in the case of Jimmy Savile). It also draws upon some of his controversial past work, such as a photo of a women in a trash can “giving Richardson a sexual favor,” as well as some contentious statements he’s said like “It’s not who you know, it’s who you blow. I don’t have a hole in my jeans for nothing.”
The petition currently has 8,000 signatures and can be seen and/or signed here.
