According to Nike designer Tinker Hatfield, the future is coming in 2015. That’s right, it seems that Nike has been configuring a way to incorporate the power lacing technology into either an upcoming version of the Nike MAG’s or perhaps a new shoe.
In case you don’t know, Tinker Hatfield is the man behind most, if not all of the Air Jordans that we have seen to date so if he says the power laces from the Back to the Future II movie is a reality, then we have to have some hope that it’s true. In 2011, Nike created 1,500 pairs of Marty McFly’s iconic shoes for charity, but the Nike MAGs released at that time did not include power laces.
Hatfield, in his own words, stated:
“Are we gonna see power laces in 2015? To that, I say YES!”
Now the speculation and anticipation begins.
