‘A Quiet Place Part II’ Introduces A New Character

The premier of John Krasinski‘s A Quiet Place Part II hits theaters this month and Paramount Pictures has given us a glimpse of a new character from the film named Emmett, played by Cillian Murphy.

Judging by the look of the character, you can tell Emmett has seen some things in his life. His survivor mentality and willingness to live in solitude has gotten him to where he is in the film. In the featurette, Emmett meets Evelyn Abbott (Emily Blunt) and her newborn for the first time, but he refuses to help because more people equals more noise.

The beauty of Cillian’s character was that there’s so much loss in his life. He doesn’t feel the need to be a part of any community. He’s actually a representation of the rest of the world. There’s a darkness to him and there’s a fear level to him that makes him unpredictable.

NIGO x Virgil Abloh Unveil Louis Vuitton LV² Collaboration

Named “LV²” by NIGO himself, this collection is a homage to the duality of the creative approach by the aforementioned and Virgil Abloh. As for NIGO, his influence and design schemes can be seen throughout the collection especially on the pants that capture every little detail, down to the vintage-style patchwork and stitching.

The LV² captures Louis Vuitton’s iconic leather pattern work from the traditional ‘LV’ monogram to the equally aesthetically pleasing signature Damier pattern. The two patterns can be seen merged together on a few garments as well as on a layered drip motif on the bags.

In an interview with Vogue, Abloh had this to say:

I didn’t say it to be polarizing. … If you speak to anyone that’s been in streetwear for the last 15 years, it’s always had this sort of nine lives, dying and coming back, and dying and coming back. There’s so many first generation streetwear brands, stores, and retailers. The market wasn’t as vibrant as it is now, so they went out of business and people don’t remember those. … Partially what I meant [by] “it will die” is that new things like tailoring from guys like Nigo and me will be born from the regeneration of it.

Ben Affleck Reveals Why He Left Batman Role

In an interview with GQ, actor Ben Affleck revealed that the reason he left his role as Batman in the DCEU was due to his loss of passion for the character.

Affleck states that he didn’t realize how big the role was when he initially accepted it stating, “I don’t think I even realized how iconic the character was until I took the job and that was a big story.” The Town actor also says, “It happened at a time when the Internet was expanding into the movie business in a different kind of a way and the fan sites and the relationship with the fans and the studios and the comic book creators was changing and evolving.”

Continuing: “I had my fill of that. They said, ‘Would you want to direct and star in a solo Batman movie?’ I found that I had lost my enthusiasm or passion for it. This should really be made by somebody for whom it’s their wildest dream come true and, for me, it had become something different and it was clear to me that it was time to move on. But I do have some really fond memories, particularly of Batman v Superman, and how exciting that was. And how energizing it was and how much fun we had.”
