The Nike Dunk Low SP “Samba” Has A Release Date

What was once a Japanese exclusive back in 2001, the Nike Dunk Low “Samba” will now be arriving on August 21st. The official images in the gallery below show that this silhouette will mirror its predecessor, making for one of the most sought-after releases of 2020.

The “Samba” features a two-toned upper composed of a silver and hyper blue colorway and showcases a carbon fiber material on the Swoosh and heel-tab. Just like the majority of Dunks released this year, we predict that the “Samba” will sell out as soon as they drop. The $100 price-point is a reseller’s dream as they could easily flip for over triple the price. Check out the Nike SNKRS app for the drop on August 20th.

Nike Officially Announces “Mamba Week” In Honor Of Kobe Bryant

Nike fully commits to preserving the legacy of Kobe Bryant with Mamba Week, a week-long celebration filled with launches celebrating the NBA legend. There will be three important efforts for the move with the first being a donation to the Mamba and Mambacita Sports Foundation, more focus on the Mamba League, and lastly, the release of more Nike Kobe Protro shoes and apparel. These efforts kick off on August 23, the day before Kobe Bryant Day (8/24), which was declared by the city of Los Angeles.

The Mamba and Mambacita Sports Foundation, in memory of Bryant and his daughter, Gianna, will receive a $1 million donation from the Nike Foundation. The goal is to help kids stay active, especially in undeserved communities while also providing an even playing field for girls.

Continuing, Nike will lend further support to Bryant’s Mamba League partnership with the Boys & Girls Clubs in Los Angeles. The league is created to give children a place to advance their fundamental skills of basketball. The Mamba League, which was created in 2017, will continue Bryant’s message of “Work to get better every day, on and off the court.”

Finally, Nike will release more Kobe Protro silhouettes as well as limited quantities of the star’s Lakers jerseys. Look out for these to drop right around Mamba Week.

Nike Zoom Kobe 5 Protro “Heart”

Nike debuted the rerelease of the Nike Zoom Kobe 5 Protro “Chaos” back in January. All plans for the model stopped in its tracks with the tragic passing of NBA legend Kobe Bryant, daughter Gigi and others in a helicopter crash. The COVID-19 pandemic didn’t make anything much better as many upcoming releases have been put in limbo.

Things are looking up as it seems the Nike Zoom Kobe 5 Protro will hopefully get started once again with the “Bruce Lee” and “Big Stage” colorways up next. In addition to the aforementioned color ways, another Protro model is speculated to be in the works with the Nike Zoom Kobe 5 Protro “Heart.” This silhouette has an over all grey, black and white colorway combined with a mixture of patterns.

Nike Air Ship OG “Banned” Is Releasing This Year?

The original banned silhouette that Michael Jordan wore was the Nike Air Ship, even though most think the Air Jordan 1 was the original banned model in the black and red colorway. Earlier this year, Jordan Brand retroed the Air Ship with the Air Jordan 1 during All-Star Weekend as a part of its “New Beginnings” pack. Now, Italian brand Back-Door will hold a global raffle for your chance to own a pair of the Air Ship “Banned.”

The Los Angeles brand has now set its focus on the Air Jordan 4 silhouette which sparked rumors of a release back in 2019. This Air Jordan 4 collab will also be releasing in two different colorways as well.

New Look At The Sample Off-White™ x Nike Air Force 1 “MCA”

A sample pair of Virgil Abloh’s Nike Air Force 1 “MCA” was up for grabs on Stadium Goods. The pair was available in a size 12 and although they looked similar to the pair that were released last year, there were also subtle differences as well.

The original pair had a light blue midsole while this sample pair showcases an all black midsole. The “AIR” is still prevalent on the midsole which is painted in white. Also of note is the stitching which is now black as opposed to the blue stitching from the original.

Virgil Abloh, who we assume has a an array of unreleased samples, wore these Air Force 1’s ahead of his Paris Fashion Week runway show in 2020. Check out the images above.
