The Balenciaga Speed Trainer Gets An Upgrade

To say Balenciaga‘s Speed Trainer was a success would definitely be an understatement. The popular silhouette has found a way to penetrate mainstream fashion and is even referenced in Cardi B’s “I Like It.” Now, the fashion house introduces an upgraded version with the Speed 2.0.

Demna Gvasalia designed the Balenciaga Speed 2.0 which doesn’t stray too far away from the aesthetic of the first model. The silhouette still keeps its 3D-knitted sock upper as well as the sole but this time around, comfort and flexibility are at the forefront.

An more defined molded sole enhances the overall unit to provide better agility without sacrificing its strength. The Speed 2.0 also features five segments in the sole which adds more support to each part of the foot as opposed to just one-piece from the previous model.

Colorways for the new Balenciaga Speed 2.0 can be found in triple black, gray, tan and black-and-white. Head over to Balenciaga’s online shop and in select retailers to purchase. Prices range from $825 USD to $895 USD.

Slithery Black Croc Slides Courtesy Of Balenciaga

Balenciaga has just given us a peek at a pair of black croc slides from the brand’s Spring/Summer 2020 collection. Balenciaga ditches the streetwear-esque direction it’s been going in as of late and focuses more on dressing up. These reptilian-like slip-ons are sure to get anyone’s attention when stepping out.

Balenciaga drapes these slides in croc-embossed Italian calfskin, with the most intricate and tastefully done tonal top-stitching and piping. The forefoot strap features Balenciaga branding over velcro for easy size adjustments.

Balenciaga’s sleek Black Croc Slides can currently be purchased on SSENSE’s website for $495 USD.
