Lil Wayne Earns Fifth No. 1 Album on Billboard 200 Chart With ‘FUNERAL’

Lil Wayne’s ‘Funeral’ has received no. 1 honors and holds the position as his 12th top 10 effort. In retrospect, Wayne first hit the Billboard 200 over two decades ago, on the list dated Nov. 20, 1999, when his first studio album Tha Block Is Hot debuted and peaked at No. 3.

To date, ‘Funeral’ has scanned over 139,000 equivalent album units earned in the U.S. in the week ending Feb. 6, according to Nielsen Music/MRC Data. The album was released on Jan. 31 via Lil Wayne’s imprint Young Money through Republic Records.

It seems as though retirement may be an after-thought now that Nicki Minaj has released “Yikes,” which reminds us that she’s still at the top of her game. Minaj also confirmed that “Yikes” isn’t the official single for her upcoming fifth studio album as she told a crowd of her fans:

“it’s not my single, because my single will be launched with a visual. This is a set-up song with no video. Please don’t kill me ya’ll, you asked me to put it out, don’t forget.”
