New Balance Introduces The Shandal

Combining a sneaker and sandal into one hybrid, New Balance introduces the ‘Shandal.’ The Shandal has aspects of a running sneaker with the simplicities of a sandal which offers a lightweight shoe that’s perfect for summer.

The ‘Shandals’ color palette includes vibrant reds, blacks, yellows and whites, with synthetic materials and translucent TPE on the midfoot. An added strap wraps over the top of the foot, tightly secured by Velcro with New Balance branding found on the sides. New Balance To Make Face Masks For Hospitals

New Balance is doing its part in combating the COVID-19 crisis by manufacturing face masks for hospitals. The footwear company plans to work with government officials and local medical institutions to close the gap on the lack of masks that hospital professionals have been dealing with.

New Balance will be making prototypes in the manufacturing facility in Lawrence, Massachusetts. They will begin scaling production once adequate prototypes are confirmed. Judging by their recent post on Instagram, there seems to be a sample of a mask from the company with the slogan that reads “Made shoes yesterday. Making masks today.”
