Nike To Sue MSCHF Over The Lil Nas X ‘Satan Shoes’

Lil Nas X’s troll game comes with a consequence as his sneaker collaboration with MSCHF for the ‘Satan Shoes’ has drawn the unwanted attention of Nike.

The ‘Satan Shoes’ feature a black and red colorway adorned on Nike’s Air Max 97 silhouette and even contain a drop of human blood. MSCHF is a company based out of Brooklyn, NY and it was a group of six employees that actually donated their blood for the sneaker. The drop of blood is mixed with the ink that filled the air bubble on the sole.

On Monday, MSCHF released 666 pairs of the sneaker for $1,018 in which it sold out within one minute. Consequently, Nike had filed a lawsuit against the company stating:

…unauthorized Satan Shoes are likely to cause confusion and dilution and create an erroneous association between MSCHF’s products and Nike. Decisions about what products to put the ‘swoosh’ on belong to Nike, not to third parties like MSCHF. Nike requests that the court immediately and permanently stop MSCHF from fulfilling all orders for its unauthorized Satan Shoes.”
