The NBA has just announced that it will suspend the season until further notice. The ruling will be enforced after the completion of tonight’s (Wednesday) games due to Center Rudy Gobert of the Utah Jazz preliminarily testing positive for the coronavirus.
“The NBA is suspending game play following the conclusion of tonight’s schedule of games until further notice,” stayed the league in a statement. “The NBA will use this hiatus to determine next steps for moving forward in regard to the coronavirus pandemic.”
Utah’s game at Oklahoma City was postponed just before tipoff after finding out the news about Gobert. After warmups, players were told to return to their locker rooms and later, fans were told the game was postponed “due to unforeseen circumstances.”
All Jazz and Thunder players will be quarantined at Chesapeake Energy Arena.
