LVMH recently announced that it will supply French authorities with 40 million masks. They were able to do that by securing the order from a manufacturer in China. Due to the recent acquisition of masks, Louis Vuitton is now in the process of making hundreds of thousands of non-surgical face masks. Louis Vuitton will repurpose it’s workshops in France, specifically in Marsaz, Saint-Donat, Saint-Pourçain, Ducey and Sainte-Florence. 300 artisans have been activated to increase production of alternative masks to aid in the relief of the COVID-19 pandemic and assist and protect healthcare workers and professionals.
As an important French House, Louis Vuitton wishes to commit at its level to producing many thousands of masks that will be distributed within the region, at no charge, to protect those who are most exposed. This production is the fruit of a wonderful collaboration with the regional sector of the textile industry.Michael Burke, Louis Vuitton CEO

In order to provide protective gear to healthcare workers, Louis Vuitton has repurposed several of the Maison’s ateliers across France to produce hundreds of thousands of non-surgical face masks. In partnership with the Mode Grande Ouest textile network, this initiative will donate the much-needed protective gear to frontline healthcare workers. Thank you to the hundreds of artisans who have volunteered to create these masks, as well as everyone doing their part to fight this global pandemic. #LouisVuitton #StayAtHome
