Chadwick Boseman, star of “Black Panther” and “42” has sadly passed away after a four year battle with colon cancer.
The majority of movie-goers most notably know Boseman from the Disney/ Marvel Studios film franchises such as Black Panther and Avengers, but Boseman’s extensive film career has seen the actor play iconic roles like Black American icons Jackie Robinson in “42” and James Brown in “Get on Up.”
Boseman worked through his cancer treatments and never spoke about his diagnosis which started around the time he played NCAAP lawyer and Supreme Court justice Thurgood Marshall, in 2017’s “Marshall.” Boseman’s most recent appearance was in the Spike Lee film and Vietnam War drama “Da 5 Bloods,” and this year he will appear with Viola Davis in “Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom,” which is an adaptation of the August Wilson play, directed by George C. Wolfe.
Survived by his wife and family, Chadwick Boseman was 43.
