Bill Gates has now taken the title for the largest farmland owner in America. Even though his reign as the world’s richest person has been taken by other billionaires such as Jeff Bezos and Elon Musk, Gates seems to have other priorities such as buying up well over 242,000 acres of farmland which spans across 19 states, according to Land Report.

Gates’ started purchasing farmland back in 2014 after already acquiring 100,000 acres and his most recent large purchase was for $171 million on a 14,500 acre tract in Horse Heaven Hills. Louisiana and Arkansas holds the most land for the tech tycoon, combining for a total of 116,998 acres.
