We are thrilled to be working with Mike Judge and the great team at 3 Arts again as we double down on Adult Animation at Comedy Central. Beavis and Butt-Head were a defining voice of a generation, and we can’t wait to watch as they navigate the treacherous waters of a world light-years from their own.

Colin Kaepernick And Ava DuVernay Team Up For Netflix Series “COLIN IN BLACK & WHITE”

Netflix has just announced a new show entitled Colin In Black & White, coming from filmmaker Ava DuVernay. This series will focus on Colin Kaepernick’s adolescent years from being an adopted black child in a white family.

This project will be directed by Michael Starrbury and Kaepernick will handle the narration duties.

The six-episode series, which was conceived in 2019 and recently completed writing in May, provides an introspective look at Kaepernick’s early life as a Black child growing up with a white adopted family and his journey to become a great quarterback while defining his identity. The limited series reunites Starrbury and DuVernay who last worked together on Netflix’s acclaimed When They See Us, which received 16 Emmy Award Nominations, including a nomination for Outstanding Writing for the duo and was recently honored with a Peabody Award.

Colin Kaepernick spearheaded the much needed conversation about police brutality on black people through his courageous peaceful protest during his time in the NFL. As much as certain media outlets tried vilifying him, many now see how necessary and ahead of his time Colin was, especially with today’s climate.

“With his act of protest, Colin Kaepernick ignited a national conversation about race and justice with far-reaching consequences for football, culture and for him, personally. Colin’s story has much to say about identity, sports and the enduring spirit of protest and resilience. I couldn’t be happier than to tell this story with the team at Netflix.”

Ava DuVernay

“Too often we see race and Black stories portrayed through a white lens. We seek to give new perspective to the differing realities that Black people face. We explore the racial conflicts I faced as an adopted Black man in a white community, during my high school years. It’s an honor to bring these stories to life in collaboration with Ava for the world to see.”

UCLA’s $280 Million Deal With Under Armour In Jeopardy

In 2016, the largest deal in NCAA history was made when Under Armour inked a contract with UCLA worth $280 million for 15 years. It would seem that there may be road blocks in the partnership as Under Armour is now looking to end the relationship after 3 years. Under Armour states that is has not received the benefits from their marketing for an extended time period in which they have paid for.

Under Armour has recently made the difficult decision to discontinue our partnership with UCLA, as we have been paying for marketing benefits that we have not received for an extended time period. The agreement allows us to terminate in such an event and we are exercising that right. We know that this has been a challenging time for athletes, sports programs and performance apparel brands alike. Under Armour will continue to preserve our strength in this challenging environment, while maintaining a strong network of partnerships with individuals, organizations and leagues that make us the on-field authority for focused performers.

Under Armour’s Official Statement

The Los Angeles Times reports that a sum of $15 million USD was paid upfront to UCLA AND $11 million USD per year after. $7.4 million USD was given to the program in sports equipment, apparel and shoes per school year as well as a $2 million USD grant over eight years for upgrades on athletic/ performance facilities. Subsequently, UCLA will fight the termination from Under Armour.
