Patagonia has begun the process of pulling all of its advertising from Facebook and affiliate company Instagram. This move follows in line with The North Face as they have done the same thing and has joined the “Stop Hate for Profit” campaign. The “Stop Hate For Profit” campaign is designed to call for the boycott of Facebook and its affiliates because of their positions on hate speech and misinformation.
Patagonia Head of Marketing Cory Bayers released the statement below via his Twitter account explaining that the boycott would last until the end of July at the least.
“For too long, Facebook has failed to take sufficient steps to stop the spread of hateful lies and dangerous propaganda on its platform. From secure elections to a global pandemic to racial justice, the stakes are too high to sit back and let the company continue to be complicit in spreading disinformation and fomenting fear and hatred.”
Patagonia is proud to join the Stop Hate for Profit campaign. We will pull all ads on Facebook and Instagram, effective immediately, through at least the end of July, pending meaningful action from the social media giant.
The Hundreds and Billionaire Boys Club are joining forces for a co-branded graphic T-shirt. Proceeds from the partnership will go to two different charities: Black Lives Matter and Black Mental Health Alliance.
Branded designs from both companies will be featured in white print on a pre-shunk black cotton jersey tee. The back of the tee holds the Hundreds’ Adam Bomb as well as Billionaire Boys Club’s astronaut along with the words “BLACK LIVES MATTER.” The front shows The Hundreds’ logo next to “BLM” stylized as the “BBC” logo with the words Billionaire Boys Club written on the bottom.
June 10 is the last day to purchase the tee which can be bought on The Hundreds’ website for $75 USD.
Richard Mille has somewhat made a place at the top of the timepiece game in terms of what many have defined as to what luxury is. Whether it be Drake, Jay-Z, Meek Mill, or Pharrell, the Richard Mille watch has been made a status symbol of what success is.
Most of what we’ve seen from Richard Mille has been deduced to the wrist, until now. The popular Swiss timepiece maker has now introduced a new take on the pocket watch. The new RM 020 Tourbillon Pocket Watch is a reimagining of a popular mainstay from years ago, updated to the modern era.
Features include a carbon nanofiber composite baseplate that was molded at a temperature of 2,000˚C to ensure stability from a mechanical, physical, and chemical standpoint. The timepiece is finished off with a sturdy titanium chain and matching desk stand.
Take a detailed look at Richard Mille’s RM 020 Tourbillon Pocket Watch above. There’s no pricing info as of now but more info can be found at Richard Mille’s official website.
In joining the #BlackLivesMatter movement, Stüssy has made its stance on the issue clear. In a call to end systemic racism that has been a cancer in the USA for hundreds of years, the legendary streetwear brand has just released their ‘End Racism’ T-Shirt.
The tees will come in either a black or white colorway and will feature the words “STAND FIRM” in Stüssy’s signature handstyle on the front and “END RACISM NOW!!” on the back. All 100% of profits from the sale of the T-shirts will be split evenly between Black Lives Matter and the Equal Justice Initiative.
The T-shirts will be priced at $40 USD and will be available now at Stüssy’s website.
Fear of God enlisted Off-White™, Union LA, Awake NY and more for T-Shirts for charity. All proceeds from the shirts will go to the Gianna Floyd Memorial Fund, named after George’s daughter.
Other brands that collaborated with FOG are NOAH, Denim Tears, Just Don, Pyer Moss and Melody Ehsani. The shirts are pretty much straight forward in their design which feature metallic silver or black “GF” on the front to honor George Floyd as well as his daughter Gianna Floyd on the front. The back shows a list of all the collaborators in their respective logo aesthetic.
Stay tuned to the Fear of God Instagram on June 5 for release details. The retail price is set at $100 USD, and all proceeds go to the Gianna Floyd Memorial Fund in honor of George Floyd and to support his 6-year-old daughter. If you’re interested in donating to the fund directly, go here.
Matthew M Williams’ new endeavor will be a collaboration with Stüssy. The 1017 Alyx 9SM founder took to Instagram to make the announcement, wearing a denim jacket and matching jeans made from 100% cotton by Loro Piana. Loro Piana is one of the leading Italian manufacturers of luxury fabrics since 1924.
Virgil Abloh has just unveiled his latest offering of earrings and bracelets as part of his collaborative “Office Supplies” jewelry line with world-renowned jeweler to the stars, Jacob Arabo of Jacob & Co. The collection will be made-to-order which replicates the look of ordinary paperclips and crafts them into 18k yellow, white or rose gold.
The bracelets and earrings are made up paperclip-looking shapes that are linked together and studded with white diamonds.
[the collection] is a concept for fine jewelry I developed and have been sitting on for a while now…It’s all cryptic & metaphoric but that’s as much of the concept as the adolescent idea of making a paperclip bracelet in grade school meets the blinding aspirational quality of a Rocafella chain. It’s my whole art practice in one object.
Anyone interested in the “Office Supplies” collection may fill out a request form by emailing officesupplies@canary—yellow.com. Every order is personally reviewed and approved by Jacob Arabo and Virgil Abloh.
