Travis Scott continues his onslaught of collabs with big companies as he gives us a sneak peak at a Nike Dunk Low and PlayStation sneaker.
Nike x Travis Scott x PlayStation
The pair featured showcase the backward Swoosh that was seen on previous Nike x Travis Scott silhouettes as well as the PS logo at the heel. No further details are confirmed yet but the expectation for the pair will be more clear once the PlayStation 5 drops on November 12.
The internet was sent into a frenzy after several Nike SB knockoffs were released. The result caused creator of the shoes, Warren Lotas, to be sued by Nike.
Some of the shoes have a striking resemblance to Nike’s “Heineken” and “Stussy” colorways and Jeff Staple even co-signed the “Pigeon” knockoff which was more than likely the final nail in the coffin as it lit social media up. Even though the shoes have a slight alteration to separate them from Nike, you can clearly see where the inspiration for the design comes from.
Nike has enlisted a Los Angeles federal judge order for the halt to Lotas’ manufacturing of the sneakers as well as stoppages to all sales. Along with the order, the suit will address “any and all profits earned as a result of WL’s acts in violation of Nike’s rights.”
Warren Lotas intentionally created the confusion, and he is attempting to capitalize on it, by, among other things, using Nike’s registered Dunk word mark, using Nike’s registered Dunk trade dress, and using a mark that is confusingly similar to Nike’s famous Swoosh design to promote and sell his fakes.
Warren Lotas has responded to the suit in his IG post below on Oct. 16.
We are currently investigating the claims made against us and will do what it takes to remedy the situation amicably. I firmly believe my intentions have been misconstrued.
Off-White continues its collaboration with Jordan/Nike and the release date for the upcoming Air Jordan 5 “Fire Red” collab will be dropping toward the end of the month.
The “Fire Red” features the deconstructed aesthetic that Off-White head honcho Virgil Abloh has made iconic over the last few years and is reminiscent of the “Black Metallic” colorway. The color palette of this sneaker, however, is inverted from the “Black Metallic” colorway, featuring a sail upper with red accents and silver reflective tongues. The aged yellowing look can be seen on the mid-panel, eyelets, lace toggle, and tread area. Rounding out the details is Abloh’s cutouts that the designer made famous on the first Air Jordan 5 he designed.
The Off-White x Air Jordan 5 “Fire Red” will release on October 24 for $225 USD.
Jordan Brand‘s Holiday 2020 retro collection continues to impress and now we have a new look at the Air Jordan 12 “Dark Concord” colorway.
The “Dark Concord” is adorned in an all black leather upper with the mudguard receiving a pebbled black leather look. Purple or “concord” hits can be seen on the mid-foot overlays, heel tab and the two upper eyelets.
The Air Jordan 12 “Dark Concord” will see a full-size run release in men’s and grade school sizes via Nike SNKRS and select retailers on October 23. Pricing is set at $190 USD for men’s pairs and $140 USD for kids’ pairs.
The Air Max 97 is the must-have summer sneaker and Nike gives the silhouette the perfect color vibe with a “Light Bone” tone.
The upcoming Nike Air Max 97 “Light Bone” will come in a combination of mesh, leather, and synthetic materials overlaid in a neutral white color. The use of black hits on the tongue, inner liner, and spine complements the overall sneaker very well which is only further enhanced by the silver SWOOSH and transparent Air unit.
No release date is set thus far, but the Nike Air Max 97 “Light Bone” is expected to release before 2020 ends with a price of $180 USD.
The Nike SB Dunk Low colorways keep coming in when it seems like there’s a new one announced every week. Images of a Sean Cilver x Nike SB Dunk Low have begun to surface online, featuring a gold Swoosh on a baby blue upper.
Although this silhouette seems to be a rumor so far, we could see a concrete release soon. Take a look at the pair in the gallery above and check back as we receive more information.
Nike has just revealed official images of its new SB Dunk High “Invert Celtics” colorway. This silhouette is part of the Nike skate subdivision’s “Invert Pack” which shows two different sneakers stitched together.
These “Invert Celtics” feature a mixture of shaggy pinky/black suede on the upper combined with a medial quarter of green/white leather. Pink hits can also be seen on the eyelets, mudguards, heel, collar and Swooshes.
This sneaker first saw a release in Japan earlier this month and is now set for a global release in October at select skateshops for $120 USD.
A Lakers inspired Air Jordan 3 colorway could be on the way just in time for the holidays. Named “Court Purple,” this Los Angeles Lakers rendition comes in a black/purple/white colorway with a mostly matte black upper with purple hits on the back heel, midsole and Jordan logo.
The iconic elephant print remains prevalent just like its predecessors. The “court purple” adds the perfect touch that will make the sneaker a sought-after buy for many Laker fans.
Look for the Air Jordan 3 “Court Purple” to drop on November 14th at select Nike retailers for $190.
The Virgil Abloh and Jordan Brand partnership has not missed so far and it looks like the misses will be non-existent once again with the upcoming release of the OFF-WHITE x Air Jordan 5 “Sail” colorway.
It looks like we will see this “Sail” silhouette of the OFF-WHITE x Jordan 5 drop next month which will certainly be the start of the holiday season of sneaker heat.
Via ZSneakerHeadz, this shoe will come in a cream and fire red colorway as well as the yellowed outsole, giving off a vintage look. October 24 seems to be the date for the release but be sure to sign up for updates as the day draws closer.
